The club has partnered with Ashton Gardens and Closebourne retirement villages to make Emergency Medical Information Books available to residents.
The owner of the little red book fills in information and medical records that may be needed if an ambulance is called and the patient needs to be transported to hospital.
If the patient and others around are distraught and unable to give the correct details about the patient’s condition, medications they may be on, or their medical history, the paramedic can access the book to find this information.
The books are useful for people who take medications or have a medical condition, and older people living on their own.
The Rotary Club of Green Hills has purchased 500 books to sell for a gold coin donation to cover costs.
To purchase a book, email secretary@greenhillsrotary.org.au or call 0412 56 0018.
