The bottle-cap mural project began as a way for attendance team members Leanne Taylor and Lisa McLennan to engage a group of students in need of a creative outlet.
But it quickly grew to include all students, staff and parents.
“Once we saw improvements in those students we realised it was important to get that message out to the wider school,” Ms Taylor said.
The whole school submitted designs for the mural and five were selected, mashed together and the bottlecap artists got to work.
Included in the finished design will be the playground’s iconic tree and Aboriginal dot-painting elements.
Since undertaking the project, Ms Taylor said her students have engaged with school more fully.
Year four student Alliyra Walford said she enjoyed being at school more since starting the project.
