Outgoing president, Chris Holwell, handed over the gavel and gong to incoming President Paul Burnham while Maitland mayor Peter Blackmore toasted the organisation. Lynne Swanbrough received the prestigious Lion the Year award.
Major fundraising projects for the year included manning gates at the Maitland Show, Hunter Field Days, Groovin the Moo, Caravan and 4WD Show and regular trots and greyhound meets.
The club is calling for volunteers to continue its work. A dinner is hosted on the second and fourth Monday of each month at 6.30pm at the Maitland Leagues Club. Call Paul Burnham on 0422 281 705 for information.
