Temperatures have plummeted from the spring weather the city enjoyed last week and residents have pulled out their winter coats to keep warm. Weather Watch climate specialist Don White said the wet weather was not uncommon for this time of year.
“We do get wet bursts at this time of year, we see it in August once every two years,” he said.
“There is a chance of a few snow showers above 1100 and 1200 metres.”
It will be wet in the region on Friday with the temperature as low as four degrees and as high as 16.
The showers will stick around on Saturday, with temperatures between 6 and 18, and it will be partly cloudy on Sunday with a top of 24 degrees.
Temperatures will remain low early next week with Monday likely to offer between 6 and 24 degrees, and a few showers. It is expected to be 11 to 22 degrees on Tuesday.
