The picnic is a get-together for both human and dog alike, with the cost being a gold coin entry fee.
All proceeds from the gate will go to Dog Rescue Newcastle – a charity group dedicated to rescuing, fostering and re-homing abandoned, neglected or abused companion animals.
The picnic will feature The Wonderdogs trick shows and training demonstrations, pet pampering stalls and competitions.
For the two-legged crowd, there will be wine, food and coffee on offer.
Pepper Tree Wines started the annual event five years ago in honour of winemakers and their pets.
The winery’s head winemaker, Gwyn Olsen’s dog Spencer has become part of the furniture, wandering the grounds and greeting visitors at the cellar door.
Pepper Tree Wines spokesperson Michelle Preece said there weren’t many places people could take their furry friend for an outing.
“We wanted to create a relaxed family and dog friendly event,” she said.
The picnic will run from 10.30am-2.30pm. Dogs must be social and on a leash at all times. Bring your own rugs, chairs and dog tidy bags.
