The Pythons will meet Windsor Castle Stallions in a grand final rematch in the first round at SMR from 1pm.
Port won last season’s decider by 114 runs after dismissing the Stallions in the 27th over for 109.
The one-day competition starts in A-grade through to E-grade on Saturday.
In other first round A-grade fixtures, Kurri Kurri meet Raworth at Howe Park and Paterson host Dungog at the Paterson Sports Ground.
The Maitland and District Cricket Association first and second grade competitions also start on Saturday.
Grades three to five will start their season the following week.
In junior cricket, the under-16 competition starts this Saturday. Under-13, -14 and -15 competitions start the following week.
