Dungog struggled for numbers due to end of season football trips and school holidays, with just ten players taking the field for each team.
Paterson batted first in the A-grade game at Paterson.
They made 251 for the loss of four wickets.
Dungog dropped a few catches which allowed Kurt Humphries to make 110 not out.
Humphries was well supported by Chris Merchant (66) And Jason Hicks (43).
In reply, Dungog could only muster 122. Top scorers were David Seers (42) And Damian Keeting (26).
Russ Presland took 3-27, Dean Bridges 2-27 and Jason Hicks cleaned up the tail with 2-6.
In the C-grade game Dungog took on Paterson at Gresford.
Paterson won the toss and sent Dungog in to bat.
Dungog lost one opener with the score on just six before Dennis Collison (10) and David Jenkins (37) consolidated to take the score to 57 at drinks.
The Dungog side then lost four quick wickets before Jake Hojer made 20 not out.
He had good support from Andy Muddle who finished not out on 10 at the end of the 35 overs.
Dungog started well having Paterson 4/40 before George Trappell (18) and Shaun Presland (37no) got them over the line for the loss of five wickets.
For Dungog Jake Hojer bowled well to take 2-16 from seven overs with good support from Ed Brooker who took 2-19.
Two full Dungog teams should take the park this Saturday when A-grade come up against Port Stephens at Bennett Park and C-grade take on Lochinvar at Lochinvar.
In the local Dungog competition, Vacy Farmers notched up their first ever round one win, when they defeated Clarence Town at Vacy.
Vacy notched up 185 for the loss of just two wickets.
Mark Driscoll top scored with 58 and David Gillespie also scored a half century with 51.
Wallarobba cruised to victory against Karuah White at Karuah.
Karuah were all out for 87 and Wallarobba reached the target with the loss of one wicket.
The Bunnies defeated the Rebels at Dungog High School.
The Bunnies reached 8/155 but the Rebels could only muster 140 in return.
Karuah Red defeated Gresford at Tea Gardens.
Stuart Craig (42) steered Gresford to a total of 102, but the Karuah openers got the job done with 0/108.
