Thrashville will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at the Lower Belford Property that already hosts the Gum Ball in April, Pig Sty in July and Skyline in October.
Organisers are remaining tight lipped about the new addition, the only hints emerging online point to a festival catering to harder music genres than Dashville has previously focused on.
The festival’s tagline is simply “Slightly heavier”.
Speaking exclusively to Fairfax Media, a spokesman for the event confirmed the direction of Thrashville.
"Dashville has fans from all walks of life," the spokesman explained.
"Our Skyline event is for lovers of Americana and The Gum Ball is for those with more eclectic tastes.
“We know some of our supporters like heavier music too, so we're throwing a party for them.
“We'd like to put together a line-up of both local and Aussie legends from the punk, metal and heavy rock sub-cultures."
The announcement comes on the back of the Skyline festival held on the September-October long weekend.
Before that, in July, the Pigsty festival was headlined by New Zealand heavy rockers Shihad to wide acclaim. Proving Dashville’s punters are as hungry for the mosh pit as they are for a do-si-do.
