More than 90 competitors have converged on the Upper Hunter Radio Off-road Club’s (UHROC) Ravensworth circuit, which is located between Muswellbrook and Singleton, to contest the national titles over four days.
Practice sessions began proceedings on Thursday.
Friday saw the start of the qualifying rounds, which continued on Saturday.
The action heats up on Sunday with the finals from 9am.
And, at the end of the day, the national champions will be known in the respective classes – two-wheel outlaw, two-wheel EFRA, four-wheel outlaw and four-wheel AARCMCC.
“It’s the first time we’ve hosted the championships, so we’re very happy with the response,” UHROC publicity officer Bernie Blayden said.
“We’ve got racers from South Australia, Western Australia, Queensland, Victoria and, even, New Zealand mixing it with a strong local contingent.
“The club would like to thank all of our sponsors for making this event possible.
“So, if you want to watch remote control cars racing around the track, at speeds of up to 70km per hour, head on down.
“Spectators are welcome; and entry is free.
“There’s also a canteen operational, with cold drinks, a barbecue, sandwiches and snacks.”
