Balanced On a Knife Edge is a pop-up show at Newcastle Art Space that will be shown from 3-7.30pm.
East Maitland woman Victoria Campbell was diagnosed with borderline personality disorder in 2014 and has been in and out of hospital since.
Borderline personality disorder is a mental illness that affects a person’s ability to control their emotions and impulses.
While in hospital, Ms Campbell found art to be a way to convey the emotions that she couldn’t put into words.
Her sister Elizabeth Mackenzie then came up with the idea of an art exhibition to showcase these works and offer an insight into the condition.
Works have been completed by eight artists who either suffer from borderline personality disorder or have a connection with someone who does.
The works reflect the individuals’ experiences and emotions in relation to the condition.
Works will be for sale, with proceeds going to Newcastle charity Arts In Recovery.
