Astute bargain hunters with free time will hit this weekend’s Garage Sale Trail.
Mixing business with pleasure Fairfax Media sports reporter Michael Hartshorn joined the trail through Telarah on Saturday morning and landed himself a couple of great bargains.
And the great news is there’s still plenty to be had across the Hunter with 49 sales on the Garage Sale Trail in the Maitland area alone.
If you’re looking for girls toys and baby clothes then the Ferris household in Telarah is the place to go.
Matilda and Georgia will be on hand and ready to deal unless you unearth one of their favourite toys which accidentally found its way into the sale.
There are also fresh free-range eggs from Matilda’s flock of seven chickens.
Our intrepid reporter grabbed his best bargain of the day a set of barbells, which would normally retail for $30 to $40, for $3 from Michelle Tobin in Telarah.
A hand-crafted plastic bag holder will be a handy addition to the kitchen or a new plaything for the cat.
Remember one man’s trash is another man’s treasure and there’s no better weekend to find that gem.
The annual Garage Sale Trail is on this weekend and bargains and treasures are promised to be discovered.
The even began in 2010 as a way to combat illegal dumping and soon became a way to find a unique bargain while promoting reuse and reduction of waste to landfill.
Dozens of garage sales have been registered throughout the Hunter. Take a look at our map below to plan out your bargain hunt.
