Savage ended with four wickets as City were bundled out for 116 after resuming on day two on 2/10 chasing Terrace’s first innings total of 239.
He had City on the backfoot after claiming two late wickets on day one of their two-day encounter and finished with 4-32.
The Terrace bowling attack kept the pressure on City’s batsmen restricting their normally free-flowing scoring.
Daniel Flynn claimed 2-19 from 12 overs including six maidens.
But the chief destroyer on day two was teenage spinner Mitchell Pinch who claimed 3-8 from 5.3 overs, which also included two maidens.
Savage said it was the best all-round performace by his team since he returned to the club three years ago.
“A few of the guys were a bit disappointed they didn’t go on with it with the bat, but we managed to post 239 which proved a match winning score.”
Jacob Page top-scored for Raymond Terrace with 51, Jaymes Thomas made 47 and Luke Maher (43), Savage (31) and Shannon Bills (21) also contributed.
Savage said the bowling performance could have been even more impressive with fielders dropping five catches.
“We dropped (City skipper) Matt Trappel in slips early in his innings, but thankfully we got him a few overs later otherwise it could have been pretty costly,” he said.
“They have a really good batting line-up and to restrict them to 116 was the best performance we’ve had with the ball especially at home as the ground is so big and hard to restrict scoring on.
“We were able to build pressure and take wickets as a result.
“It was a great effort by Mitch (Pinch) to get three wicket from five and a half overs. He is only 16 and a real talent.”
Savage said the win was important for his team’s self-belief.
“I always believed we had the talent to win,” he said.
“I think some of the boys had a few doubts but this will give them the belief I’ve always had in them.”
