One of the instigators of the White Ribbon movement in Australia said that men need to challenge behaviours that feed into violence.

Sociologist Dr Michael Flood made the statement during a speech at the Storming Against Violence Week of Action in 2012.

A video of speech is the feature of the Women’s Network Hunter domestic violence campaign.

The network has organised daily actions during the 16 Days of Activism against Gender Violence.

In the speech Dr Flood also discusses further responsibilities of men to stop violence, what defines domestic violence, the impact of gender inequality and progress made in the field.
