Dungog claimed Windsor Castle and Raworth’s scalps, while Kurri Kurri had an impressive win against Port Stephens and easily accounted for Raworth.
Paterson had mixed results, losing to Port Stephens in their first game but defeating Windsor Castle in their second.
Dungog batted first and made 8/158 in the round one A-grade encounter against Windsor Castle at SMR.
Martin Osmond top scored with 51 and had strong support from Jackson Bell (38) David Seers (28).
Dungog’s bowlers kept the pressure on Windsor Castle and bundled them out for 116.
David Seers took 3-30 from four overs and Nick Barham and Rowan O’Neil finished with two wickets each.
Martin Osmond continued a great day with the bat top scoring for Dungog again with 64 as Dungog made 9/117 against Raworth in their second game.
After setting a strong platform, Osmond was the first wicket to fall in a hat-trick to James Carr which halted Dungog’s momentum.
But Dungog put in a strong bowling and fielding performance to restrict Raworth to 4/113 and claim a narrow win.
Raworth opener Mitchell Thompson finished not out on 56.
Kurri Kurri dismissed Raworth for 64, with Adam Foster the star with the ball claiming 4-8 in just over two overs.
Issac Jannissen offered the most resistance top scoring with 23.
The Kookaburras wasted no time chasing down the result finishing with seven wickets in hand and 10 overs to spare.
Kurri Kurri’s bowlers were on top against Port Stephens restricting the powerful batting line-up to 8/109 from their 20 overs.
John White was the best for the Kookaburras attack claiming 3-24 and was well supported by Michael Gates who took 2-13.
No.3 Jamie Carter led the run chase for Kurri Kurri compiling 36.
Matthew Gates chimed in with 24 as Kurri made 7/114 in the 18th over.
Paterson will be ruing that none of their batsmen were able to go on to make a big score after several made starts against Port Stephens.
Opener Chris Merchant top scored with 27 as four other batsmen made double figures in Paterson’s total of 8/123.
The Pythons reached the tally with four wickets in hands and three balls to spare.
Kurt Humphreys took 2-13 and Brad Bidner 2-16 as they both completed tight four-over spells.
Paterson won their second game of the day against Windsor Castle. The scores were not posted.
