Perry played a key role for the Southern Stars in the recent series against South Africa. During the five-match one-day series she took seven wickets and scored four 50s at an average of 156.

Even more impressive is the 313 runs came from only four matches, which included her highest score in an international fixture with 95 not out.

"The last 18 months or so where I've got an opportunity to bat a little bit up the order for both New South Wales and Australia, I feel like I've improved over that time. As a player that's the ultimate goal, to continue to improve," Perry said on Friday.

Perry revealed how her father, Mark, had played a role in her success.

"I've worked hard at it and I've been really fortunate to have some wonderful help from a number of our coaches at New South Wales and the Australian level. I also work really closely with my Dad.

"My Dad is a big part of my cricket career it's been really nice to share a lot of things with him."

NSW take on Queensland in the final at Allan Border Field on Saturday. This is the Breakers 21st consecutive final appearance and they have won 17 of those matches.

Queensland are hoping to win their first WNCL title after finishing on top of the table and only losing one match.

When the two teams met in October, Queensland won by 54 runs at the Gabba.

Perry acknowledged the league leaders' impressive results.

"Queensland have arguably been in the form of their lives and been the team that have set the standard during the round matches of the competition," she said.

Perry's Southern Stars Queensland teammate Beth Mooney has also been in career-best form this season.

Mooney is the second-highest run scorer across the competition with 325 runs, including146 runs off 144 balls in her last WNCL game.

After the WNCL final, focus will shift to the Women's Big Bash League, which starts on December 10.

The Sydney Sixers, last season's runners-up, are captained by Perry who spoke of the excitement around the tournament as it enters its second year.

"Last season was really special, especially the way it panned out for us ... hopefully we can build on what we had last year."

The WBBL will open with three games to be played back-to-back at North Sydney Oval.
