Febuary 24 to 26 will see the return of the Wollombi Classic Film Festival after a successful inaugural run in 2015.
Movie buffs, or those just looking for a great reason for a weekend getaway, will be treated to six classic films at 2 stunning venues, including outdoors (night) in the Grays Inn Garden and indoors (day) at the 1845 built St Michael’s Church.
Both venues provide perfect locations for this boutique film festival and give visitors an opportunity to soak up the ambiance of a town fittingly referred to as the jewel in the crown of the Lower Hunter Valley.
The festival program is again diverse, spanning 30+ years of classic cinema including Saturday Night Fever, Sunday Too Far Away, Gorky Park, The Hustler, The Big Lebowski, Bonnie and Clyde.
The festival opens with a gala garden cocktail party from 6:30pm Friday February 24 featuring live music, canapés and complimentary Noyce Brothers Wine till 8pm, and then Saturday Night Fever to end the night disco style.
There will be a licensed bar on site selling local wine and craft beers, and as this town shows each year with events including the Wollombi Music Festival, Wollombi Market Day, New Years Eve at Wollombi Tavern and others.
