Kallan Egar beat cancer at the age of 10. But seven years later in 2015 he was diagnosed again with inoperable tumors in his heart and lung.
Family friend and secretary of the Coalfields American Motorcycle Club Andrew Redgrove said he couldn’t sit idly by and do nothing.
“You could not find a nicer family than the Egars,” Mr Redgrove said.
“The club just wants to help in whatever way it can. All proceeds will go toward the ongoing medical costs and to help Kal finish off his bucket list.”
The club has issued an open invitation to anyone with a bike or car to join them on a dice run through the Hunter on February 4.
“They want to raise as much money as they can so that Kal can go and do all the things he wants to do while he's still well enough to do them,” Kallan’s father Darren Egar said.
“This event, for us as a family, is just another example of how the community has rallied around my son. It's just an indication of how highly my son is thought of – and that fills me with unimaginable pride.
“We could raise $5 or $500,000 it wouldn't matter to me.
“Just people getting behind him and attending the day will do me just fine.”
The convoy will leave the Bradford Hotel at Rutherford at 9am and complete a circuit of less than 150km. At each stop everyone will roll a dice and the person with the highest total at the end of the run will win a prize.
The entry fee will be approximately $25.
Anyone able to donate to the cause, but who can’t make it on the day, is urged to contact Mr Redgrove on 0412371103.
