A report to the meeting said that council is seeking approval to use funding from the Thornton North Section 94 Contributions Plan to start a detailed design process for the upgrade of the Government Road and Raymond Terrace Road intersection.
The report recommends that $98,000 should be committed to start the design work.
“With the ongoing development of the eastern area of the Thornton North Urban Release Area, safety at the intersection will be of increasing concern,” an officer’s report said.
At Tuesday night’s meeting councillors will also discuss a proposal for a seniors housing project for Largs Avenue, Largs and applications for sub-divisions at Bolwarra and Chisholm.
