The state’s best riders including a strong contingent from the Hunter will be testing their skill and bravery in the bronco and bull jumping events.
The amazing teamwork of horse and rider in barrel racing will also be on display with the event starting at 5.30pm.

Places will be available on the day for children under eight to take part in the steer riding.
A Maitland Show spokesperson said the rodeo was a popular part of the NSW rodeo scene and a must event for riders from the Hunter and Upper Hunter.
“The quality of competitors and the bulls and broncos is top class,” the spokesperson said.
Entry to the rodeo is part of the general admission fee to the Maitland Show on Friday.
“It’s a great opportunity for people from the city to experience this important part of country sporting life,” the spokesperson said.
