A thief broke into 2327 Charity Boot Camp in the early hours of Sunday morning and made off with $8,000 worth of make up, nail and tanning products from 2327 Beauty and Massage, a business that operates out of the gym.
About $1000 in cash as well as $500 worth of supplements were also taken from the premises.
2327 Charity Boot Camp co-owner Jayme Richardson arrived to the Lang Street gym on Monday where he noticed a few things missing.
But it wasn’t until he went looking that he found the salon had been heavily targeted.
“Who robs a charity boot camp?” He said.
“It’s just awful.”
Mr Richardson said the emergency door had been jimmied open, but there was no other damage.
The gym owner said this made him think the thief was someone who had been in the gym before.
“They knew where things were,” he said.
Owner of the salon Rebecca Sawyers said she was hurt by the “low” act.
“It’s as low as you can get,” she said.
“It’s all quite shocking.”
The single mum has owned the salon for a few months, and it was her first day back from holidays when she found out the break-in had happened.
She said the incident almost made her want to give up the business, but that she wasn’t the type of person to give up.
The boot camp collects money for local families in-need through events every 10-15 weeks, with $12,000 raised in the past year.
Mr Richardson said Ms Sawyers will be the next beneficiary of their fundraising efforts.
The gym is offering a lifetime membership in exchange for information that leads to finding the offender.
“We just want the stuff back,” Mr Richardson said.
