Maitland City Council is calling for people to nominate someone they think worthy of recognition in the city’s new Hall of Fame.
The accolade recognises people who have a strong association with Maitland who have achieved significant prominence in their field.
Champion boxer Les Darcy, actress Ruth Cracknell and famous Maitland identities like Milton ‘Mr Maitland’ Morris were among the people included in the inaugural induction last year.
“We had such a wonderful induction event at the Maitland Regional Art Gallery last year, with some really impressive people who have contributed to the story of our city honoured as inaugural inductees,” Hall of Fame committee member Cr Brian Burke said.
Nominations for this year’s induction, scheduled to take place in July, are being called for under the category of either academia, arts, business, public service or sport.
