Paterson all-rounder Brad Bidner was a man in a hurry on Saturday, but it didn’t stop him from joining the exclusive club of scoring a century and taking five wickets in the same match.

Despite Bidner’s all-round heroics, Paterson was forced to settle for a draw when lightning and heavy rain forced the game to be abandoned with Raworth on 6/64 in reply to Paterson’s 9/195.
“I had to work an afternoon shift and came on first change to get my overs out of the way,” Bidner, who scored 101 earlier in the match, said.
“The ball came out well and I had five wickets when the storm hit.
“I had to race straight to car and drive to work. I didn’t get a chance to celebrate the ton or five-for with the boys. I suppose it’s my shout next time.
“I’ve taken five wickets before in a match and scored centuries, but never in the same match,” he said.
“We lost a few wickets early on and I decided to stick around. I batted myself in and was able to get some runs.”
The former Raymond Terrace first grade player finished with 5-9 from four overs and said it would be close to his best return with the ball.
“Unfortunately, we didn’t get the win and we drop back to third after Windsor Castle got up over Dungog.
“We’ve got Windsor Castle next week and (top side) Paterson in the final round. It’s a tough draw but it’s what you want going into the finals.”
Tim Baker was the best of the Raworth’s bowlers snaring 3-14 from eight overs. Ryan Lacy (2-23) and Ryan Threlfo (2-35) both picked up a brace.
Dungog v Windsor Castle
After forfeiting two weeks ago and last week’s heat ban, Dungog got back on the field and set Windsor Castle a reasonable target of 145 batting first at Blackhill Oval in Maitland.
Stuart Reeves top scored with 36 and Aaron Cottom was next best with 23. Aaron Clack was the chief destroyer for the Stallions taking 5-19.
Windsor Castle’s openers wasted no time chasing the target. Leigh Williams smashed 81 including seven four and six sixes and Chad Ryan’s 41 included six sixes and two fours.
Daniel Rumbel (2-16) and Cottom (2-6) had the best figures for Dungog’s bowlers.
Kurri Kurri v Port Stephens
Port Stephens batsmen were restrained but their attack was red-hot ensuring a 151-run win against Kurri Kurri in time to beat Saturday’s storms.
Jarrod Moxey top scored with 40 as Port Stephens were dismissed for 184 in their final over.
Adam Foster (3-18) and Brooke Martin (3-27) were the chief destroyers with the ball for the Kookaburras.
Port’s Lleyton Eveleigh took 5-8 and Shannan Attewell top scored for Kurri Kurri with 16 as they were all out for 33.
