The centre will unveil the first section of the new mall, which will include more stores, more services and better access for customers, on April 27.
The opening will include four new stores, Cruise Travel, L’Amore Nails, a second Blooms chemist and Toto Sushi.
The first stage opening will also see the return of a number of favourites including Myhouse, The Reject Shop, Traditional Medicine, Mister Minit, Newcastle Permanent and a full service Westpac Bank branch.
Best & Less, Eyecare Plus, Just Cuts and NIB will also be relocated into the new northern mall along with the CR8 Children’s Play Area.
Stockland Group Executive and CEO of Commercial Property John Schroder said the first stage is just the start of an amazing transformation and there is much more to look forward to.
He said an exciting schedule of openings are planned to bring a great line up of new retailers and services.
“We’ve made great progress so far and look forward to seeing the new shopping centre come to life as we transform Stockland Green HIlls into the premier retail, entertainment and casual dining destination in the Lower Hunter,” Mr Schroder said.
Stockland will also deliver a number of key access improvements for customers by the end of April including a new centre entry near Best & Less and a direct access pedestrian link to the shops from Mitchell Drive and the bus stop.
The centre will also open almost 300 additional new car parking spaces with Park Assist.
Fairfax Media reported earlier this year that Hoyts will open a seven screen cinema in the complex.
The cinema will be located in the new entertainment complex which will open mid-2018.
The new 900-seat cinema will offer customers a number of experiences including powered recliner seating, as well as two Xtremescreens with Dolby Atmos surround sound.
Customers will also have the opportunity to enjoy Hoyts Lux, a premium experience offering gourmet food and wine selections in an in-cinema dining service.
“Hoyts are renowned for putting the customer experience at the heart of their business and the new seven-screen cinema will offer our customers the best movie-going experience in the region with all the latest blockbusters available day and night,” Mr Schroder said.
It will be the 16th Hoyts to open in NSW and the second Hoyts in the Newcastle and Hunter region.
The Stockland Green Hills redevelopment, which started in January last year, continues to steam ahead.
On completion, the centre will more than double in size to around 74,000 square metres and will feature the first new format David Jones department store in the Hunter and around 25 tenancies in a dining and entertainment precinct.
