The 30-year-old is working her way around Australia to raise $100,000 for BeyondBlue and Love Your Sister and she’s already collected more than $30,000.
She will bring her tour to Morpeth’s River Royal Hotel on Friday, March 17, between 6pm and 11pm before she heads to Queensland and the Northern Territory next month.
It’s a journey that’s close to her heart. Her cousin has battled cancer twice and had to have a double lung transplant, and at a year 9 camp two of her friends were tragically killed when a tree landed on their tent during a storm.
“And so I busk on behalf of all who have suffered from cancer, depression and anxiety, for those that have lost a friend or family member, in the hopes that the least I can do is put a smile on someone's face for a moment, to chase away the black dog that is depression, and to help find a cure for cancer,” she said.
“It's been such an amazing journey already - so many stories have been told.”
“Everyone has a story to tell, but not all are ready to share it.
“My story is my motivator for this amazing journey around Australia.”
