The hotel’s owners are proposing alterations and additions to enclose the existing outdoor dining area and extend the existing garden bar.
There are also plans to demolish the existing gaming court and build a new indoor gaming room and convert the existing gaming room into new toilets.
The development has been recommended for approval.
The Belmore, on the corner of St Andrews and High streets, had been owned by a Sydney investor before the Murphy family purchased the property in June 2004.
The hotel underwent a $2million refurbishment with a new kitchen and a la carte restaurant.
The hotel’s main bar area was also restored with work on the bar showcasing how the hotel was in its inter-war art deco days.
The hotel's first floor bed and breakfast accommodation was also upgraded.
