Raymond Terrace all-rounder Jacob Page was in electric form on day one of the grand final scoring 122 of his teams total of 185 at Robins Oval.
A wet out-field restricted scoring early, but Page still managed to score nine fours and a massive six which landed on the Maitland Park Bowling Club greens.
He was eventually caught beside the boundary fence by Logan Smith off the bowling of Caleb Daskalovski.
He received good support from fellow opener Logan Andrews who scored 17 and Caden Taylor who scored 12 before being well caught in the outfield by Tom Beckham off the bowling of Max Hampton.
Norths Black stuck to their job and did a terrific job to restrict the Lions’ total to a score below 200.
The wickets were shared around with Max Hampton (3-32) and Will Fort (2-23) finishing with the best figure. Daskalovski took got the key wicket of Page and pulled off a magnificent reflex run-out off his bowling to dismiss Duncan Akerman.
Norths have a strong batting line-up including first grade experienced players Will Fort, Callum Gabriel and Shannon Threlfo and they will need to make a solid start against Raymond Terrace’s bowling attack of Page, Aiden Bills, Michael Bennett and Taylor.
