This also means that our Maitland Community Sports Day will be rescheduled.

The Charlestown game has been rescheduled to Thursday at Lisle Carr Oval from 6pm.

Maitland Magpies are urging the city’s teams to rally to the colours for their first home game of the season on Saturday.
Every child wearing Maitland sporting colours and an accompanying adult will get free entry to Saturday’s game at Cook Square Park against Newcastle Jets Youth. The main games kicks off at 2.30pm. Games start from 10.45am
Magpies sponsorship executive Craig McGregor said the response to the Magpies’ initiative from fellow Maitland sporting teams had been fantastic.
“Getting Maitland sporting teams to unite and work together would be fantastic and we have spoken to heads of a number of the other clubs who support this initiative and will look to do something similar at their home games during the winter,” McGregor said.
“I’m hoping it will be the start of something big as all the city’s club can benefit from co-operation whether its fans supporting each other’s teams or sharing facilities and putting in joint-submissions for government funding.
“Sport is such a huge part of this city’s culture and by working together we can ensure the success of our sporting teams.
“So if you're a Mustang, Picker, Saint, Ram, Redback, Blacks, we would love to see you in your club colours and come along and support the Maitland Magpies at Cooks Square Park on Saturday.”
