Kurri Kurri Bulldogs staged a four-try comeback to secure back-to-back Charity Shield wins against Cessnock Goannas on Saturday.

The grandstand reverberated to the Kurri chant as the Bulldogs completed an inspired comeback led by their pack and clever halfback Terence Seu Seu to finish 26-22 winners.
Cessnock scored the first two tries of the second half after controlling the opening period and leading 12-6 at half-time.
Down, 22-6 the Bulldogs eliminated errors on the edges trying to push plays and were able to retake the initiative.
Kurri Kurri dominated the last 30 minutes to run in four tries.
The win secured the Charity Shield with the teams going into first grade with Kurri Kurri on 20.5 points and Cesscnock on 19.5 points from games from under-6 to reserve grade.

The Cessnock Goannas and Kurri Kurri Bulldogs go head-to-head in all grades at Baddeley Park on Saturday for the 2017 Charity Shield.
Matches run from 8.30am, leading up to the first grade game, which is scheduled for 7.30pm.
Entry is by gold coin and this year’s beneficiary is the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service Cessnock Volunteer Support Group.
