The event, which is held at Tocal, has been going for more than 20 years.
Friends of Palliative Care chairman Noel Allwood said the event is a way for people to come together to honour and remember friends and family who have died.
There will be five and 10 kilometre walk and fun-runs, and a ceremony will be held afterwards to recognise lost loved ones.
The walkathon is also the organisation’s only fundraiser for the year.
Mr Allwood said the event goes a long way to help fund palliative care across the region.
The money will go towards patients’ medication, equipment for palliative care nurses and palliative care seminars for nurses.
