Tyrrell’s took out the Judges’ Selection categories for red and white wines at the Texsom International Wine Awards in the USA last week.
The awards, which have existed for 32 years, had more than 3500 entries from across 25 US states and 25 nations this year.
Seventy-one internationally renowned wine industry representatives from across 10 countries judged the competition.
“It is an honour for our wines to be recognised amongst some great entries from around the world, and we are proud to have won these particular awards in this high profile international wine competition,” Tyrrell’s Wines managing director Bryce Tyrrell said.
The 2011 Vat 1 Semillon is considered Tyrrell’s flagship wine and has become prominent in the international market.
The 2014 Shiraz has been described as the baby brother to the famous Vat 9 Shiraz.
