And family entertainment leader Timezone is tipped to be a flagship attraction in the centre’s new leisure precinct.
Despite numerous calls, Stockland Green Hills Centre Management and Stockland’s Media Relations department remained tight lipped about the impending openings of H&M, Timezone and Harris Scarfe.
Workers in the centre, however, have reportedly spoken freely and with excitement about the big-name arrivals.
Harris Scarfe is one of Australia’s longest trading retailers, with over 160 years of experience. It has 55 stores across South Australia, Victoria, Tasmania, NSW, the ACT and Queensland and employs more than 2000 staff.
The H&M group is one of the world’s leading fashion companies. It started with a women’s wear store in Sweden, in 1947 and today H&M has more than 4300 stores in 64 markets.
Timezone recently announced it was in ongoing discussions for new sites around the country and the company’s franchising and business development director, David Shimell, did not rule out Stockland.
At a Maitland City Council this week councillors voted to approve two applications to amend development applications for the $412 million Mitchell Drive project.
One of those applications was to adjust floor space and parking layout, the other to make adjustments to the centre’s cinema and leisure complex.
Both applications were approved unanimously.
Cr Steve Procter said the redevelopment was a credit to Stockland and council planners.
“It’s worth commenting on the way the whole project has been coordinated and run,” he said
“For something of this magnitude I’ve never seen anything work like such a well-oiled machine and I have worked in construction for a lot of years,” Cr Procter said.
Daniel Brabant, Development Manager at Stockland, addressed council in public access, thanking it for its ongoing support with the development.
