Members of the Mint will bring a mobile coin press to Steamfest this year so punters can make their own uncirculated $1 coin to commemorate the centenary of the Trans-Australian Railway, which united the east and west of Australia.
Maitland will be the second stop for the Mint’s Trans-Australian Tour.
The booth will be set up at the Steamfest Rally Ground in Maitland and will be open between 8am and 4pm on Saturday and Sunday.
