The first stage of the revamped Stockland Green Hills will open to the public on Thursday, when shoppers will be able to get their first real taste of what the $412 million renovated centre will look like.

Fourteen retailers will be part of the first redeveloped stage, including Cruise Travel, L’Amore Nails and Toto Sushi which are new to the centre.
Blooms The Chemist will open its second store and 10 retailers, including Best & Less, The Reject Shop and My House, will make their return to the centre.
“Today we are one step closer to transforming Stockland Green Hills into a vibrant, thriving shopping, leisure and entertainment destination that is set to be the pride of the Hunter,” Stockland’s Design and Development general manager Tim Beattie said.
The redevelopment is on track to generate more than 2285 jobs, including 1350 construction jobs, 1250 direct full-time jobs in retail, customer service and hospitality, and some 1200 flow-on jobs for local suppliers.
“In addition to delivering a much-improved shopping experience for our customers, we’re proud to say that our $412 million investment is creating thousands of new jobs for the local region and creating an important multiplier effect on the regional economy,” Mr Beattie said.
“We hope customers will continue to embrace the new centre as the heart of their local community and make it their own.”
Three-hundred new parking spaces, with park assist technology, will also become available at the centre on Thursday, as well as a new entry near Best & Less and a direct pedestrian link to the shops from the Mitchell Drive bus stop.
A candle-making workshop live cooking demonstrations and an appearance from Bob The Builder will be part of the opening of stage one on Thursday.
The revamp is expected to be complete in mid-2018, and will more than double the size of Stockland Green Hills.
The renovated centre will feature the Hunter’s first new format David Jones, a 900-seat Hoyts cinema and about 225 tenancies with a vibrant new dining and entertainment precinct.
