The annual walkathon and fun run is on this Sunday at Tocal College to raise money for Friends of Palliative Care.
The event is the major fundraiser for the not-for-profit organisation, which supports terminally ill people across the Lower Hunter.
The funds help pay for chemist accounts for terminally ill people, education for palliative care nurses and equipment to assist nurses.
Chairman Noel Allwood said the event was important as anyone could need palliative care at any time. “You never know when you might have to do it,” he said.
He also said the walkathon was a chance to remember lost loved ones.
Registrations can be made online or on the day. The run starts at 8.30am followed by the walk at 9.30am.
