Maitland duo Jarrod and Lincoln Smith are celebrating after the Newcastle Rebels under 23s smashed North Coast 50-18 at Cessnock Sportsground on Saturday.
However, the Newcastle Rebels Ladies League Tag team, which featured Maitland’s Emma Martin, has bowed out the CRL Championships losing 10-20 to North Coast.
The Rebels under-23 team, which also featured Cessnock’s Reed Hugo, Sam Apthorpe and Robert Tuliatu, led 20-6 at half-time and didn’t let the foot off the pedal.

Maitland Pickers’ Emma Martin is the only Coalfields player in the Rebels LLT team, which also plays North Coast after accounting for Northern Rivers 36-4.
The Maitland under-23 duo will be joined by Cessnock’s Reed Hugo, Sam Apthorpe and Robert Tuliatu who have also retained their spots on the bench.
The Rebels Ladies League Tag game kicks off at 11.05am, with the under-23s to follow at 12.10pm, as Cessnock hosts Macquarie Scorpions.
