Maitland Saints smash Gosford Tigers by 76 points

A half-time rocket got the Maitland Saints back on track to record a convincing 76-point win against Gosford Tigers.

A six-goal third-term saw the Saints extend a 19-point half-time lead to 58 points.

They continued to push hard in the final term to run out 18.9-117 to 6.5-41 winners.

Maitland dominated the contested ball in the third term and spread the ball to runners to ensure plentiful supply up forward.

Backman turned forward Ben Crowley cashed in with seven goals and what he missed Josh Button was on hand to collect, finishing with four goals.
