The annual ball, which was staged at Monte Pio Hotel and Conference Centre on Saturday, July 1, was in support of NeuRa (Neuroscience Research Australia).
NeuRa is a not-for-profit research institute that aims to prevent and cure disease and disability of the brain and nervous system.
Eighty people donned their finest 1920s garb for the charity event and enjoyed entertainment, raffles and an auction.
Sunday Sidewalk, Ryan Hemsworth and bands from Newcastle Music Academy performed and guest speakers Kate Ryan and David Mumford spoke about their experiences suffering strokes.
Fairfax Media journalist Josh Callinan was the night’s emcee.
The event was Mitchell Physiotherapy’s second annual charity ball. Last year’s fundraiser collected $10,100 for the Motor Neurone Disease Association.
