Then the Maitland Region Society of Artists members exhibition might be worth a visit this weekend.
More than 200 pieces of art – mostly paintings but also some sculptures – will be on display from about 40 local artists.
The annual fundraiser will be open on Friday night after judging, and will run Saturday and Sunday at St James Anglican Church at Morpeth (Tank Street).
“This covers our running costs for the year and it also allows us to give out some art scholarships to local high school students,” society president Verona Lucas said.
“It’s a very relaxed atmosphere and we usually have a handful of local artists on hand for a chat.”
As an added attraction on Saturday Maitland City Choir will perform at 11.30am.
“All the artwork on display is for sale – and at very reasonable prices,” Mrs Lucas said.
Opening hours are Friday 6pm to 8pm, Saturday 10am to 4pm and Sunday 10am to 3pm.
