Maitland City and Carpet Court finished the season in third and forth place respectively.
The losing team’s season will be over, while the winner will go on to play the loser of the George Tavern and Hills Solicitors clash the following week.
Maitland Carpet Court player Melissa Lidbury said their team had a good mixture of youth and experience which had seen them improve through the season.
“We’ve got a little bit of experience scattered through a side with a lot of young girls,” she said.
“Our goal at the beginning of the season was to make the semi-finals and everything after that is a bonus.”
Lidbury said their younger players had benefited from the experience of playing A-grade.
“The young girls have really grown in confidence and gone from strength to strength.”
She said the opposition were “a class act”.
“They’re goal attack is really good,” she said.
Maitland Carpet Court have played city twice this season, losing on both occasions, but Lidbury was confident they could get one back in the semi-final.
“Anything can happen in the semis,” she said.
Lidbury praised the efforts of goal attack Katie Rodwell, saying she had been their “most consistent player all season”, as well as a great role model for younger players.
“She’s got a real physical presence,” Lidbury said.
