Tabrett is the Founder and Managing Director of Animal Referral and Emergency Centre (AREC) which have offices in Green Hills and Broadmeadow.
The practitioner’s doors were first open in 2004 and have since welcomed thousands of animals into their care.
“The AREC team is really proud of David,” said a spokesperson for the practice, Louise Carey.
“To us he is not only a founder of AREC … but he has relentlessly pursued a vision of animal care for our local region, that rivals other businesses found in the metropolitan region.”
To be eligible for the award a practitioner must demonstrate an outstanding service to the profession, high standards of practice, academic qualifications and commitment as well as an overall professional profile.
“I am deeply honoured to receive this,” said Tabrett as he received the award.”
Mr Tabrett also thanked his colleagues, his wife and the team at AREC who inspire him daily.
