Warren Lewis, Director and Senior Sonographer at Vascular One Ultrasound, has been recognised for his work in the field of ultrasound scanning of arties and veins by the Australasian Sonographers Association (ASA).
Lewis has also been awarded with an Associate Fellowship of the Australian Sonographers Association. He is only the second vascular sonographer in Australia to achieve this prestigious recognition.
“I am honoured and thrilled at being awarded the Associate Fellowship,” Lewsis said. “It’s very rewarding to be recognised for my contribution to improving ultrasound diagnosis of artery and vein problems throughout the body, and helping to educate others in our profession.”
To become a fellow, sonographers need to have enhanced the ultrasound profession through education, research, publishing articles in journals, presentations, leadership and service.
Warren has been scanning arteries and veins for over 30 years, has trained sonographers and been a guest lecturer at the University of Newcastle.
The ASA is a peak body for sonographers in Australia and New Zealand with more than 5,000 members. Vascular one branches are located at Maitland, Kotara and Nelson Bay.
