The affected areas include Paterson and Glen Oak on Saturday and Pokolbin, Kitchener and Payne’s Crossing on Sunday.
Hazard reduction burns are completed annually and each year there is only a small window of opportunity where weather conditions are conducive to completing controlled burns.
The RFS advises local residents to take appropriate precaution during this time.
They also urge nearby motorists to slow down and take extra care if driving through smoke, keep the windows up and turn their headlights on.
If weather conditions become unfavourable on the scheduled burn day, the hazard reduction burn will be postponed until conditions become suitable.
