The charge came after police spotted a suspicious vehicle in Churchill Crescent, Rutherford about 9pm August 17.
Police attempted to stop the vehicle, but it allegedly sped off towards Lochinvar.
The pursuit was terminated a short time later “due to the risk to the community”, police said.
Later that night police received information that led them to a home in Banks Street, East Maitland just after 10pm.
When officers arrived a man allegedly ran from the rear yard and jumped several residential fences.
A 21-year-old man was arrested in a nearby side street. It is alleged he was found hiding in bushes.
Officers searched the man and allegedly seized more than $17,000 in cash, eight grams of methamphetamine and a small quantity of cannabis.
He was charged with 10 offences including Skye’s Law (police pursuit), supplying a prohibited drug, dealing in the proceeds of crime, malicious damage, drug possession and driving offences.
He was refused bail to appear in Maitland Local Court later this month.
A 33-year-old woman, who was allegedly in the vehicle at the time of the pursuit, was also arrested. She was charged for failing to give information to police.
