It is only a small meeting agenda for the new councillors who were elected at the September 9 Local Government election.
Councillors will determine whether or not it will elect a deputy mayor and if they do they will determine whether the election is to proceed by way of preferential ballot, ordinary ballot or open voting.
At the meeting councillors will also take the oath or affirmation of office. Newly elected councillors are required to take an oath of office or make an affirmation of office at or before the first meeting of council after their election. Councillors will also appoint delegates to a number of committees.
