A man has been left “shaking like a leaf” after his vehicle ploughed through a fence and ended up on a train track at Maitland Railway Station.

Ed Boyd, 73, was about to catch the 11am train to Casino when he parked his motor home about 10.15am.
“The car park sloped down so I tried to put some wooden blocks underneath the front wheels,” he said.
“I was probably overdoing it a bit.”
He said he tried to edge the van forward when it went over the parking barrier and the harsh bump caused his foot to hit the accelerator.
The vehicle then mounted the footpath and ploughed through the fence onto the tracks.
The vehicle came to a stop on the rail line, blocking tracks one and two.
Mr Boyd said he immediately jumped out of the car, and luckily there were transit officers on scene at the time to help.
The 73-year-old said he was glad no one was hurt and just had to laugh in disbelief.
He said he decided to wait and catch a train later this afternoon.
Police are investigating the incident. A tow truck was called out to remove the vehicle.
Limited buses replaced trains between Telarah and Thornton, while the line was closed.
