Men’s, women’s and mixed teams from across the Hunter will battle against club sides from across NSW in the two-day competition at Maitland Park.
Sports fans are in for fast-paced action with play on Saturday from 8am through to 5pm and from 8am through to finals in the afternoon on Sunday
There will be 60 teams from the 17 competing club Beresfield, Central Coast, Doyalson, Dubbo, Forster, Macksville, Maitland, Mudgee, Muswellbrook, Nelson Bay, Newcastle City, Orange, Peninsula, Port Hunter, Port Macquarie, Wallsend and Wollongong with 150-plus games to be played over the weekend.
The tournament is also a major boost for the local economy with 1000-plus competitors, 100 referees and 200 team officials taking part.
As well as playing for team glory, players will be selected from this tournament for the Hornets regional sides, who will then compete at the 2018 National Touch League.
The Maitland Redbacks will be aiming to defend their men’s 30s title and the Beresfield Bandits are back to make it back-to-back men’s 55 titles.
