City have the bye this round and Pillidge will not return to the field until round three starting on October 28 against Eastern Suburbs.
If he completes the feat it will be one of the most drawn-out hat-tricks in Maitland cricket history.
City United and Raymond Terrace dominated their opponents in last Saturday’s opening round of the Maitland and District Junior Cricket Association.
City bundled Norths out for 47 with Sam Parkinson top scoring for the homeside with 14.
The visitors shared the wickets around with Jock Vivers claiming 2-4, Joshua Johnston 2-3 and Pillidge 2-6.
City’s batsman took just 12 overs to reach their target with Ewan Mowbray scoring a rapid fire 37 and Jack Hodge 4 as they finished with 0-52.
Eastern Suburbs opener Lachlan Ballard made an outstanding start to the season compulsorily retiring on 51 from just 49 balls as the young Griffins had a nine-wicket win at home against Raymond Terrace.
Ballard’s innings included seven fours and a six and he was ably supported by Cameron Pannowitz as Easts made 1/81 in 15.1 overs to overtake Raymond Terrace’s total of 9/80 from their 25 overs.
Ryan Jonovski top scored for the Lions with 14. Lachlan Page finished on 12 not out and Joshua Wells made 10.
Young spinner Will Stoneman had a terrific match taking 2-5 and being involved in two run outs. Later in the day Stoneman collected 3-10 in second grade against Kurri Weston.
Nicholas Bourke was the other chief wicket taker claiming 2-16.
Round two will be a two-day fixtures with Eastern Suburbs hosting Northern Suburbs and Raymond Terrace at home to Kurri Weston.
