In a year in which Cullen stepped up as one of the club’s leaders on and off the field, he was also named first grade players’ player and best back.
Cullen, who also received life membership of the Bulldogs, shared the first grade honours with forward Michael Steele who was named best forward and won the coach’s award.
The Bulldogs had NRL royalty at the awards with former Cronulla Sharks star David Peachey joined by Rebecca Crouch from club sponsor the NSW Health “Tackling Domestic Violence” Program.
Paterson MP Meryl Swanson also announced the club’s success in gaining a $3500 grant from the “Stronger Communities” grant program.
In a salute to the future young forward Jordy Mitchell was named rookie of the year.
The changing face of rugby league was also evident with Bulldogs Ladies League Tag player Rachael Sharpe taking out the award for the club’s leading point scorer with 68 (four tries, 26 goals).
First grade wing Mark Walker was the club’s leading tryscorer with 10 for the season.
The club players’ player was under-19 Callum Nugent and Phil Osland was recognised as clubman of the year.
Nugent had a fantastic year for the Bulldogs also taking out the player of the year, players’ player, coach’s award and best back in the under 19s.
