Year 11 students entering their first term of year 12 were the subject of the school’s Seize The Day preparations.
Students attended a number of workshops aimed at helping them navigate year 12, before an inspirational speech from freestyle skier Olympian Amy Sheehan.
“The kids have been awesome, they’ve been really receptive to it all,” said the school’s senior careers adviser, Jennifer Sellers-Fogarty.
Workshops included lessons on study techniques and well-being, with Ms Sellers-Fogarty saying the day was an “opportunity for students to kick start their final year at school”.
Athlete Amy, who competed at the 2014 Olympics in Sochi in the halfpipe event, spoke about resilience, following their dreams and the value of hard work.
Students said they enjoyed the day and found it useful ahead of their final year of study.
“We really needed something like this going into year 12,” said student Maddison Battese.
