The Maitland Hospital Volunteers Inc. celebrated the excellence in volunteer service at Club Maitland City on Thursday.
The volunteers have assisted in the past year by providing a sensory garden, chair/beds for two wards, donations of equipment, support for patients and more.
Maitland Hospital volunteer and community coordinator Kim Simpson said the volunteers were very deserving of recognition.
“They attended to general ward duties, assist with administration, support staff meetings with quality, affordable catering,” she said. “
“They purchase goods in their own time with their own money for raffle prizes. They are always on the hunt for a bargain for the lolly trolley and shop.”
